Unsupported features — and what to do with a model that has them

For these we cannot guarantee the browser rebuilds them correctly. They are not forbidden: a model with them exports and its page opens. The feature simply will not be on it — and it is better to know that now than after two days of work.

Features that are suppressed

The browser cannot compute them, so they are written into the recipe by name as suppressed and the part is built without them.

• Helix and spiral. Not rebuilt. Most often it is a sweep path — and then the sweep goes too.
• A sweep along anything but a sketch. Along a helix, a chain of edges, a composite curve.
• Sketch text. Deliberately. Reading the font was the last thing an export wrote into your model, and we removed it.
• Loft, boundary, rib, shell, draft. Not read at all yet.

⚠ Where the feature sits in the tree matters. Suppress a feature at the end and you lose that feature. Suppress the first one — a sweep along a helix on a gear, say — and there is nothing left to cut from or copy, so nothing is built at all and the page shows an empty preview.

Features that build but do not move

• Relations that reach outside a sketch — attached to a model edge or another sketch. Held at the exported position.
• A pattern whose axis is bound to an edge — stays where it was.
• The pierce relation — skipped.
• Mid-plane and two-direction revolves — keep the exported angle.

What to do with such a model

1. Export the web configurator and open Page preview. Do not guess — the export lists what the recipe does not describe, feature by feature and by name.
2. Go through the inputs you mean to give your buyer and check that the model actually moves for each one. A feature frozen at its exported state looks perfectly correct at the default values.
3. Where you can, replace the feature with one the browser handles: a helical sweep with a circular pattern, a loft with an extrude, text with an embossed extrude.
4. What you cannot replace, move to the end of the tree. The model then loses only that feature rather than everything below it.

⚠ Revolved cuts were on this list until 24 August 2026 and are not any more. Grooves, undercuts and turned reliefs rebuild. If your page was exported before that, export it again — a recipe is frozen at the moment of export.
