Share a workflow with the company — gull system handbook
Sharing between computers in gull system: the Share with the company switch on a workflow, what is transferred, the Server screen, Synchronize, newer wins, what is not shared.
Share a workflow with the company
Every computer works on its own copy; the server holds the company's copy. What you share is matched by name and the newer version wins — in both directions.
What is shared and how
The unit of sharing is a workflow. Switch on Share with the company on it and the workflow goes to the server with everything it uses: configurators, forms, Excel sources, output structures and Library lists. Another computer in the company has it "within a minute and a half".
- Open the workflow (Workflows → Open) and in the Workflow editor switch on Share with the company.
- On the other computer sign in with the same company. The items appear in the lists; the configurator's Properties show Where this configurator lives = Online for the company.
- Keep working on either computer. Changes leave by themselves; the header shows Saved — here and on the server, or Saved here — the server is unreachable, it will be sent when it can.
Who wins
- Items are matched by name. Two configurators of the same name on two computers are one item.
- On a disagreement the newer save wins, both ways. There is no "Upload" and "Download" and no manual conflict resolution.
- When leaving a configurator with unsent changes: Changes not uploaded → Upload and leave, or Leave without uploading.
The Server screen
The main menu's Server is one tree — Configurators, Input sources, Output sources, Workflows, Library — with the Machine and the Saved date on every item, and the marks Here only, so far and This machine only. The only button is Synchronize; everything else happens on its own.
What is not shared, and what to watch
- Texture lists: the images are on this computer only — "This type cannot be shared".
- Stop sharing takes the items off the server, but copies other computers already pulled stay with them.
- Paths: the model path and an output structure's root are paths on disk. The same path must exist on the other computer, or it reports "The model was not found at its saved path". A network path `\\server\…` solves it.
- Order numbering and Excel intake are per computer — keep them on in one place only.
