The order did not start — gull system handbook
Troubleshooting: an order from Excel, a form or a page did not start — intake off, the order status, an unconnected source, a missing workflow line, SOLIDWORKS did not connect.
The order did not start
The Excel row stayed "New", the page button returned an error, nothing in the Log. Walk it from the source to the CAD.
Home first
The Home → Problems screen names the usual causes outright: "A loose heading in Excel — orders will not start", "No line — orders create no file", "Not connected to any configurator", "The add-in is not registered — orders will not generate".
An order from Excel
- Open the source (Input sources → Excel → Open) and read the watch state. Off means saving the sheet is ignored — click Start accepting orders on this machine.
- Check that the row's status column holds exactly the New order value — "New" is not "new " with a space.
- Check that the source is connected in the configurator's step 4 and that a line leaves it in the Workflow.
- If Wake CAD is off and SOLIDWORKS is not running, the order waits. Start SOLIDWORKS, or click Generate new orders.
- A file open in Excel may be unreadable — save and close it.
An order from a form
- The form has no Button with the Generate action — nothing starts it.
- A required field is empty, or a field refused a value (MIN, MAX, an item outside the list). The form shows the error at the field.
- The form is not connected to this configurator (step 4).
An order from a page
- "This page is not taking orders right now" — the Web configurator node has no line in the workflow, or the app is not running on this computer.
- From the published page no order reaches the app — an enquiry does, see Take an order from the page.
SOLIDWORKS
- "SOLIDWORKS was not found on this computer" — orders run only where SOLIDWORKS with the add-in is.
- "SOLIDWORKS did not connect — check that the gull add-in is switched on" — see SOLIDWORKS did not connect or the add-in is missing.
- "The configurator did not answer in time" — a dialog in SOLIDWORKS is waiting for a click.
- "Skipped — the model could not be found" — see The model was not found at its saved path.
