The order file for an ERP — gull system handbook

The new order file in an output structure: file type, one file per order or one shared file, delimiter, the list of generated files, columns and encoding.

The order file for an ERP

An order file is a CSV, TXT or .xlsx with the input values, which a structure writes on every order without the CAD. It is the way to hand an order to another system.

Procedure

  1. In the main menu Output documentation open the structure, select a folder and click New order file.
  2. Choose the File type: CSV, TXT or Excel (.xlsx). For CSV the default Delimiter is a semicolon, for TXT a tab; a comma is also offered.
  3. Choose the Mode. One file per order creates a new file every time. One shared file appends one row to the same file — an order list for production.
  4. Leave Write the list of generated files on if the ERP needs to know where the drawings are. It adds a Files column with pipe-separated paths.
  5. Name the file — fixed, or by formula like any other document — and save.

What is in the file

An input named like one of the built-in columns wins. The file is UTF‑8 with a BOM, so Excel opens it with accents intact; it is written under a temporary name and renamed when complete, so a watching system never reads a half-written file. In an .xlsx the sheet is called Orders.

What it is for

gull system hands orders over as files. There is no direct write into a specific ERP, no e-mail sending and no BOM sync into an ERP in the app; the API / ERP add-on is not available yet.
