Reference for the form field types in gull system — Parameter, Text, List, Checkbox, Table — and their properties: ID, range, list, behaviour, style, appearance.
Field types and their properties
Five field types and their properties in Properties. A field is bound to an input by the ID row.
Types
- Type: Parameter - Value: a number - Particulars: Range and step: MIN, MAX, Step. Control style Input box or Slider (needs MIN and MAX).
- Type: Text - Value: text - Particulars: Control style Input box or Colour (a colour picker, value `#RRGGBB`).
- Type: List - Value: the chosen item's name - Particulars: Pick a list: a Library list (Colours, Textures, Materials, Options), or Custom options = a drop-down. Items per row 2–8 for tiles.
- Type: Checkbox - Value: 1 or 0 - Particulars: Control style Input box (a tick) or Switch. Default `1`/`0`.
- Type: Table - Value: the number of the chosen row - Particulars: Rows from a Library table; 1 = first data row, 0 = none. Other columns are read by a rule: `TABLEGETVALUE(table, column, [field])`.
Properties every field has
- Group: Main - Row: ID - Meaning: the name of the input the field collects. Pick it from the connected configurators' inputs, or type your own. A field with no matching input collects nothing and the configurator lists it among the unconnected inputs.
- Group: Main - Row: Type, Required - Meaning: the field type; a required field must be filled before sending
- Group: Text around the field - Row: Above, In front, Behind, Below - Meaning: captions; a unit (mm) goes in Behind. Above and Below have Alignment.
- Group: Value / Range and step / List - Row: Default value - Meaning: the same value as the input's default in step 2
- Group: Behaviour - Row: Visible, Enabled, Items, Error - Meaning: a static value or a rule — see Drive a field with a rule
- Group: Behaviour → More settings - Row: When the selection disappears - Meaning: for lists: Select the first, or Select nothing, when the chosen item vanishes from the choices
- Group: Style - Row: Control style, Placeholder text - Meaning: by type, see the table above
- Group: Appearance - Row: background, text colour, selection colour, corner radius, text size, alignment - Meaning: lists also have Bold and Text position (below / above the image)
A list with pictures
A List bound to an Options list from the Library shows each item's Photo as a tile — that is how an assembly's configurations are offered on a page. A Colours list shows swatches, Textures the texture image. The item's name is always the value the order carries.
What a field refuses on an order
A default value reaches the order even when the field is hidden: a hidden field sends its default. If a hidden choice should mean "nothing", leave the default empty.
