Export the library of combinations — gull system handbook

Exporting a web configurator: the combination count and the library cap, the Export button, what SOLIDWORKS does during export, results and failure reasons, when to export again.

Export the library of combinations

An export lets SOLIDWORKS walk every combination of the form's values and saves each as a model. Until the next export the page shows the old state — and gives no sign of it.

Before exporting

  1. Check the Combinations row on the model node: a number, or "Cannot be counted" with the field marked red. The count is computed from the unsaved form, so you see it while editing.
  2. If there are more combinations than the library holds, narrow the form — turn a number into a range, drop a choice. The rules are in What a customer can change on the page.
  3. Save the page. Does the app need to be signed in? No — export is local; sign-in is needed for publishing.

Export

  1. Open the page's Local address in a browser and walk through a few combinations. It is the same code the customer will see.

A cancelled export breaks nothing: "The export was cancelled, the previous library stays." The page keeps showing the last completed export.
