Create a web configurator — gull system handbook

Creating a web configurator in gull system: a new page under Input sources, connecting a configurator, the page's form, the page address, the submit button, Generate at once.

Create a web configurator

A web configurator is a page with a 3D model and a form, made from a finished CAD configurator. On it the customer composes a variant from what you exported.

A page is created under Input sources → Web configurators and is at the same time one of the intake methods in the configurator's step 4. Nothing changes for the customer until the next export — a page is a frozen copy.

Procedure

  1. In the main menu open Input sources → Web configurators and click Create a web configurator. The page editor opens — the form designer with a browser-shaped canvas.
  2. On the ribbon click Configurator and pick a CAD configurator. The first one connected is the main one; export and orders run against it.
  3. Give the page a form. On the page root is Start from a form — it copies a Library form once. Edit the fields as in the form designer; a List with pictures from Options offers configurations as tiles.
  4. Insert a Button with the Generate action. A page has no built-in order button. Without one the customer cannot send anything.
  5. Fill in the Page address. Lower-case a–z, digits and hyphens only, no accents: `trailer`, not `přívěs`. The company address above it is chosen on the website under Account → Company. The resulting address is `https://<company>.gullsystem.com/<page>`.
  6. Save with the header's Save. Then continue with Export the library of combinations — without an export the page has nothing to show.

Page properties (the root)

A page has no price. The price on a page was removed and will be designed afresh; an order carries none. A page that collects enquiries and leaves the price to you is a finished product.
