The link breaks the bond between a configurator and a source; Use only stops order intake. When to reach for which.

Stop the orders, or disconnect the source

The link icon and the Use button on a saved form or Excel source do two different things. The difference is what happens to your setup.

Every saved form and Excel source in step 6 carries two controls side by side: a link icon and a Use button. They look similar, but they undo different things.

• The link = the connection. Break it and the configurator and the source stop having anything to do with each other. A change to the form no longer reaches the configurator; a renamed column in the spreadsheet no longer concerns its inputs.
• Use = accepting orders. Switch it off and the configurator stops executing anything through that method: saving the watched spreadsheet no longer triggers generation. The connection stays live, though, and step 6 still reports what changed in the source.

I want to pause orders for a while

1. Open the configurator and go to step 6.
2. Find the method the orders arrive through — the saved form or the Excel source.
3. Switch Use off on it. Leave the link alone.
4. Rework the model, tune the rules, test.
5. When you are done, switch Use back on. It resumes against the current state of the form and the spreadsheet, not a stale one.

I want to end the connection for good

1. In step 6, click the link icon on that method.
2. Confirm. From that moment the configurator and the source have nothing to do with each other.
3. The source itself does not disappear — it stays in Input sources with all its settings. You can reconnect it, or use it with a different configurator.

Why these are not two names for one thing: pausing intake for a week is ordinary operational work — you are reworking the model, tuning rules, and you do not want new orders landing in the middle of it. If pausing meant disconnecting, you would lose the record of which form belonged to that configurator, and you would be hunting for it a week later. So in practice: pause = switch Use off, finished = break the link.

The same Use switch also appears on an Excel source's and a form's own page, on each connected configurator. It is one switch seen from the other side — flip it in either place and the other screen agrees.
