Connect a form to a configurator — gull system handbook
Step 4 Input sources → Forms: connecting, disconnecting, unconnected inputs, several forms on one configurator and one form for several configurators.
Connect a form to a configurator
A connected form is one the configurator takes orders from. One chain icon connects and disconnects; disconnecting deletes nothing.
Connect
- Open step 4 and Forms in the menu.
- Select a form in the list and click Connect (the chain icon). Or create one with Create new form — that one connects itself.
- In the Workflow (step 6) draw a line from the form to an output structure — without one an order saves nothing.
Connected = in use. There is no further "Use" switch on a form. To pause orders from a form, disconnect it; the form's settings stay and you reconnect it with one click.
Disconnect
Disconnect asks "Really disconnect the form?" — neither the form nor its design is deleted, the configurator just stops taking orders from it. Delete, by contrast, deletes the form itself, for every configurator using it.
How many forms and how many configurators
- A configurator can have several forms and several Excel sources connected at once.
- One form can be connected to several configurators. Its field fills the input of the same name in each of them — one order then rebuilds all of them.
- How a field pairs with an input is in Name things so that they connect: by the field's ID, regardless of case, diacritics included.
Where a form is filled in
- In the app: open the configurator and its Form panel; the Generate button starts an order. Or in the main menu Input sources → Forms → Open — a form run from there rebuilds every configurator it is connected to.
- In SOLIDWORKS: a form with Show in CAD switched on is in the gull system panel — see Place an order from SOLIDWORKS.
