The capture did not work — gull system handbook

Troubleshooting: the gull system panel in SOLIDWORKS does not capture — wrong mode, a click outside the configurator's model, another model in front, an unsaved model, a taken name.

The capture did not work

You click in the model and the panel shows nothing, or refuses. It is almost always the mode, the document, or an unsaved model.

• What you see: Selected parameter stays "—" with no message - Cause: the click captures nothing in this mode (a material on a sub-assembly, an appearance on a face, a plain note in Drawing mode) - What to do: choose the right Capture mode and click again
• What you see: "Another model is in front in SOLIDWORKS" - Cause: the active window is not the configurator's model - What to do: click Open model, or switch windows
• What you see: "Wait until generation finishes" - Cause: an order is running - What to do: wait; SOLIDWORKS is busy
• What you see: "The CAD name already belongs to another item — please enter your own" - Cause: an empty custom name and the CAD name is taken - What to do: fill in Custom name
• What you see: "This name is already used by another item" - Cause: a duplicate custom name - What to do: choose another; to rename an item, click it in the list and save with the new name
• What you see: "The model is not saved on disk yet … Save it now?" - Cause: a new, unsaved document - What to do: save the model (Ctrl+S) and pick it in the panel again
• What you see: the panel shows a menu, not capturing - Cause: the app is not on step 1 - What to do: in the app open the configurator on 1 Capture parameters

An item is captured only by the Save button. A filled Selected parameter without Save looks like a capture, but nothing reached the app.
