SOLIDWORKS did not connect or the add-in is missing — gull system handbook
Troubleshooting: SOLIDWORKS not connected, the add-in not registered or switched off in SOLIDWORKS, a stale add-in version, port 5050, the app not running.
SOLIDWORKS did not connect or the add-in is missing
The status bar says "SOLIDWORKS · not connected" or "The add-in is not registered", the panel in SOLIDWORKS is missing, an order reports that SOLIDWORKS did not connect.
- Look at System options → CAD integration → The add-in in SOLIDWORKS. The row shows the state: registered, missing, stale, file not found, no CAD, cancelled or failed.
- Missing or stale → Register / Register again. Windows asks once for an administrator confirmation. Then restart SOLIDWORKS.
- "The add-in is registered but switched off in SOLIDWORKS.". In SOLIDWORKS open Tools → Add-Ins and tick gull system in both columns (active and at start-up).
- "We did not find SOLIDWORKS on this computer.". The add-in registers only where SOLIDWORKS is installed. Orders that drive the CAD must run on such a computer.
- The panel in SOLIDWORKS says "Start the app". The add-in runs, but the gull system app does not. Click Open the app or Start in the background. "Could not find hub-backend" means a broken install — reinstall from Account → Downloads.
- The panel warns about port 5050. The app and the add-in talk over local port 5050. Another program holding it (typically virtualisation or container tools) blocks the connection. Switch it off, or write to us.
After an app update the add-in is updated only by registering again. The version is shown under Add-in version; if it does not match the app's, click Register again.
